Consider future lighting
Describe planned wall lights, recessed fixtures or other lighting changes. Light close to a surface can reveal variation differently from a central fixture. Consider the finished room rather than only temporary work lights. If electrical changes are planned, coordinate the responsible trade before final finishing and share the fixture positions with the contractor.
Allocate preparation tasks
List furniture, wall hangings, window coverings and fragile items that need moving. Ask how floors and adjoining surfaces are protected and who handles each task. Do not assume everything can remain under a cover. Identify an access route and clarify how the room is kept out of routine use during finishing.
Connect finishing to decorating
Share the planned paint color and sheen. Ask about primer compatibility, readiness checks and any sample review. Avoid booking another trade around guessed drying periods. Keep preparation, surface work and painting on one project calendar with named handoffs, even when separate businesses perform them. A complete plan makes the room easier to manage without invented timelines.
